The world of hypnosis is divided into two categories: Clinical and entertainment. Each has its top practitioners, and Hypnotist John Cerbone has decades of success in both. Known around the world as “The Trance-Master™,” JOHN CERBONE - The World’s Most Dynamic Hypnotist is a true megastar of the always-fascinating realm of hypnosis.
As an entertainer, John’s resume includes:
• Headlining in 27 states, Canada, the United Kingdom and on the European continent − including a now-legendary engagement at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas that packed the room beyond fire marshal safety limits despite no advance publicity or advertising, only word-of-mouth.
• Numerous TV appearances, including MTV and Fox News.
• Bringing his talents to the national Emmy® Awards ceremony, where he hypnotized celebrity attendees.
As a clinical hypnotist, the New York native has:
• Created the “Speed Trance” method of instant hypnotic induction by which subjects are hypnotized in a matter of seconds or even faster.
• Authored four best-selling textbooks (Hypnotic Scripts that Work – the Breakthrough Book; More Hypnotic Scripts that Work; Power Hypnosis – The Future of Hypnotic Sessions; Even More Hypnotic Scripts that Work) that are acknowledged internationally as masterworks of the field.
• Improved the lives of thousands of clients who have availed themselves of his gifts for everything from dealing with fears and regulating and maintaining weight loss to stress relief and kicking the smoking habit.
• Hypnosis is truly John’s calling. His gifts first surfaced when, as a toddler, he was able to use self-hypnosis to regulate his behavior. By the time he was in grade school, he was counseling his peers using the techniques that came naturally to him.
• “I know it sounds a little metaphysical and strange to certain people, but I guess I was born to do this,” he says. “I think it's probably a divine gift of some kind.”
• Nonetheless, it would be years before he was able to give his talents for accessing the subconscious a name: “I really didn't even know this was hypnosis until sometime in the late ‘80s / early ‘90s, when people were coming up to me and saying, ‘You're one hell of a hypnotist!’”
• Perhaps John’s greatest contribution to his field was his creation of the “Speed Trance.” His development of this amazing technique was rooted in his dissatisfaction with the hypnosis world’s stubborn embrace of the status quo, and its insistence on doing things the way they’d been done for decades, if not centuries.
• “When I was first officially trained, I was told that to hypnotize somebody would take 20 minutes or more,” he recalls. “And even though I'd been doing this my whole life, I was told that you had to do whatever it was verbatim and don't miss a comma or a period or whatever. It was crazy nonsense, and woefully inadequate.”
• Out of his development of the technique have come two popular DVD sets, Speed Trance: Instant Hypnotic Inductions for Stage, Street and Clinical Hypnosis, and Speed Trance 2.0, which have been utilized by hypnotists around the world.
• While John takes seriously his responsibility as a clinical hypnotist whose mission is to help his clients achieve whatever goals they may set, he is a born entertainer whose greatest satisfaction may ultimately come from the enjoyment he gives others with his mesmerizing and hilarious stage act.
• “I call myself a clinical hypnotist,” he says, “but I am also a stage hypnotist. I was trained as a clinical hypnotist first, but I have to tell you from my heart, I love being in front of an audience and making them laugh.”
